1. Why We Cannot Color-Code Absolute LBM
Lean Body Mass (LBM) represents the weight of everything in your body except fat (muscles, bones, organs, water).
- The Frame Problem: A taller person naturally has heavier bones and organs, resulting in higher raw LBM.
- The Indexing Solution: To classify raw lean mass as "low" or "high," clinicians use the Lean Mass Index (LMI):
